Architectural Control
Guidelines

The Architectural Control Committee (ACC) is responsible for helping ensure that the community retains its overall atmosphere and that the homes are maintained to standards that protect the visual character, economic value and safety of the property and neighborhood. FVHOA's founding documents require that in order to maintain a dignified and high quality community:

"the standard of architectural design, material and workmanship of all houses and other improvements be of the highest order, and that the site planning, building and landscaping thereof result in a carefully executed and harmonious effect."

The ACC is charged with assisting homeowners in matters concerning the Covenants of Restriction and providing prompt action on matters concerning architectural control. Homeowners are required to submit a request to the ACC for any exterior change or addition to the house and/or its surrounding lot. The only exceptions to this requirement are specified in the Architectural Control Guidelines.
ACC members are appointed by the Board. The Committee will meet as needed to review applications. The Committee is responsible for
-
receiving requests for approval of plans and specifications;
-
acknowledging receipt of such requests from homeowners;
-
ensuring adequate notice is given to parties in interest;
-
providing an open forum for settlement of any dispute with regard to submitted plans;
-
approving or disapproving plans;
-
and making recommendations whenever possible or necessary to assist the homeowner.
